This is the same Privacy Policy shown to signed-in members at www.mountainviewhuntclub.com/legal/privacy, published here so anyone can read it without an account. Both copies carry the same version number.

Mountain View Hunt Club (“the Club”, “we”, “us”) operates a private members-only hunting club and a member portal at www.mountainviewhuntclub.com. This policy explains what information we collect from members and applicants, how we use it, and the choices you have. The Club does not sell personal information.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use information

3. SMS text messaging

The Club uses Twilio to send and receive text messages on the club line (240) 301-1818 and the club's toll-free line (866) 489-1982. Text messaging is offered only to registered adult members and applicants who have provided their own mobile number.

How consent is obtained. Consent is collected in two ways:

Types of messages. One-time login verification codes; hunt check-in and check-out confirmations; gate access codes; dues reminders; and safety, weather, and emergency alerts.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from all text messages from that number. After STOP, the Club sends only the required opt-out confirmation and no further texts unless you later reply START. Reply HELP for help, or contact mountainviewhuntclub@gmail.com, (240) 301-1818, or (866) 489-1982. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

3a. Calls to the club lines and call recording

Maryland is a two-party consent state: under Md. Code, Courts & Judicial Proceedings § 10-402 a private conversation may not be recorded unless everyone taking part consents. Calls to and from the club lines (240) 301-1818 and toll-free (866) 489-1982 are announced as recorded before any recording begins, and continuing the call is your consent to being recorded, stored, and transcribed. If you would rather not be recorded, hang up and use the member portal, text, or email instead.

Recordings and transcripts are used for member safety, check-in accuracy, incident investigation, and recordkeeping. They are available to club officers, and are released outside the Club only to emergency services, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, or law enforcement, or where the law requires it.

Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The Club does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent. Mobile information may be disclosed only to service providers acting on the Club's behalf to deliver and support the messages you requested, and never for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

5. Security and retention

Member records, uploaded documents, and photographs are stored in private, access-controlled storage. Access is limited to the member and club officers. Records are kept for as long as needed for membership administration and legal or insurance obligations, then deleted.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use only first-party cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember your theme, accessibility, and draft-form preferences, plus an offline queue for field use. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Sign-in security data

We record login timestamps, IP address, browser/user-agent, failed sign-in attempts, and gate-code attempts to protect accounts. If you enable fingerprint or Face ID sign-in, the Club stores only a public credential identifier issued by your device — never your fingerprint or face data, which never leaves your phone.

8. Automated tools (AI)

9. Your choices and rights

10. Data breach notification

If personal information is compromised, we will investigate promptly and notify affected individuals as soon as reasonably practicable, and no later than 45 days after the investigation concludes, as required by the Maryland Personal Information Protection Act (Md. Code Ann., Com. Law § 14-3504). Where the law requires it we will also notify the Maryland Office of the Attorney General and, for breaches affecting more than 1,000 people, the consumer reporting agencies.

11. Children

Accounts are held by adults. The Services are not directed to children under 13. Minors aged 13–17 participate under a parent or guardian, who provides and controls the information on the minor's behalf.
